REPOSTED FROM FITT 2014 Fairies are not necessarily nature elementals. In fact if you look through the vast amount of folklore on them you would be hard pressed to even describe the look of a fairy let alone what it is exactly. There are descriptions that range from malicious sprites, demonic spirits, and baby snatchers to diminutive angels. Few of the folklore stories even mention them within nature and then others use the word to describe any number of creatures usually associated with it. Fairy also comes from the word Fae, which describes any number of beings. In fact Fae describes most of the beings that have been mentioned on this site already. Everything from elves, brownies, sprites and even trolls (okay that wasn’t mentioned here but maybe it should have been!) Some even suggest that there isn’t an actual fairy creature but just a takeoff on a word used to describe all mythological creatures.

REPOSTED FROM FITT 2014 After the first experience in Kauai I was eager to see more but wasn't sure if it would happen anywhere outside of the area where we were staying. So I began to study the trees everywhere we went. I could sometimes catch a glimpse or two but nothing like the entire backyard worth of trees turning into faces. REPOSTED FROM FITT 2014
A few days before we were walking the dogs through a small city park that leads to a cliff overlooking the pacific ocean. Not our usual hang out, but where my mom lives and we were visiting and taking advantage of the beautiful area to be in. We were walking along the same path we took twice a day for about two weeks at that point and I looked up and saw the funniest thing. REPOSTED FROM FITT 2014 Three is said to be a magical number and it would have to be for me because it took three times before I finally believed in the magic. The first time was just a small one; up in a tree branch on a path that I had taken almost every day for the past few months. There it was, I looked up, saw it, thought it was pretty cool and chalked it up to some things I had been reading lately that talked about them. |
