Has anyone out there ever realized that when we say “let me help you with that,” we take “that” away from them. We actually take the experience of “that” away from someone else. We no longer allow them their own journey. We think this helps them and yet it really just means they will have to do “that” at another time to learn it on their own. However, if we “assist” them with it. We only end up changing the path slightly. Taking a bit of the burden off but “allow” them to still do their journey their own way. Preventing someone from walking their path isn’t “helping” them, it’s protecting them from their own journey, their own path, their own soul. I recently noticed not only this language but my “need” to do this “for” people.
It is a two way street, however, now I’m learning to sit back and allow them to either do it on their own or ask for assistance now. Cause who really needs to be protected from their own soul journey? Just a random thought.
