REPOSTED FROM CRT 2013 Teachers, guides, WayShowers, soul contracts, soul mates, or another term you can throw out there to mean another soul that helps you along your path. There are many many of these in a lifetime, so you don't even recognize as the above because they are in your life but a few mere minutes, but they are there to point you along your way, to reflect what is going on inside you and to help you recognize what your beliefs are at the time. The following list is by no means complete but these are a few big ones for me: My Grandmother - she taught me love, from my perspective it was unconditional and it was a huge source of comfort when I was growing up
My Mother - though it has taken me until recently to realize just how huge a force she truly is in my life I have come to value all of our interactions as much or more than that with my grandmother. My mother truly is a force like no other that has taught me so much about myself and continues to do so. Our relationship was very volatile when I was young and I didn't appreciate just what I was supposed to be learning, now that I do I try to show her a much more loving side than before. She can still push buttons though! My own issues not hers, obviously, but she continues to be a strong force for change in my life. I love you mom! Greek/Roman/Native American religious studies - I was raised in two different belief system, one was Atheist and one was Christian Science and I really didn't understand either as I was growing up. I did have a brief period where I "hated god for taking my grandmother away". This put me into a situation where I pushed all religious doctrine away but was fascinated with all things "historical", "natural" or "new age". It lasted a few years but help forge a path that would later lead to where I am now. Sylvia Browne - Introduced me to the idea of a soul and an afterlife apart from religious doctrine. I personally needed an afterlife to be much different than what life here on earth is and her perspective offered some of that. There wasn't much on how to get there, other than death, but it did lead me to stop fearing a lot of things (including death) which then opened up a doorway for more teachers though it took me many years before I started tuning into the rest of this list. Sean Webb - Awesome stuff. While Sean does prescribe to the idea of "enlightenment" coming in an instant and I do not he did teach me an amazing amount of things about emotions, judgement, inner talk and so on. He also led me to many of the others on this list and others that I don't mention here but had a great influence on me. I really recommend him, especially for the BMS 101 serious that he has, it really helped me with a lot of my inner work and has laid the groundwork for more to come. Eckhart Tolle - I found him via Sean Webb and have listened (I bought the audio version of his books) to all of his stuff many times over. At first I didn't understand a thing he was talking about but as I listened more often it really started hitting home. If you take nothing from him but this "the power of now" is all you really need, and all it really is saying is be present. Adyashanti - While I didn't listen to him for long he did teach me a two key pieces that I now use in my own meditation practice. 1. You can be in any position that works for you 2. Let your soul listen to what it wants to listen to. I recommend listening to his youtube video on true meditation. Franco DeNicola - One of my favorites. Franco has a unique story all of his own. Together with his friend Antonia Hagens who has a site called Masterpiece Life they have collaborated on many discussions about the world as it is today, consciousness, enlightenment and so forth. He has some of the best clearing/activation meditations that I have found, according to what works well for me. I highly recommend taking a listen to what he has to say and you can find all his previous recordings for free on Antonia's website. Lisa Transcendence Brown - I have just found her! I can honestly say that I know my soul was keeping her for later because knowing my ego as I do I wouldn't have listened to her before now! She has some very interesting things to say that I find fascinating and that I resonate with on a deep level.
