Why would I ask for that?

I was reminded today why many people feel that there is no god, that there are things like demons, evil spirits and inherent evil in humans. I had my own times of believing in these things and I understand the type of suffering one goes through for these ideas. To awaken to the idea that every experience we have had here on this planet has been one that we signed up for is an idea that some just can’t conceive of, don’t want to or won’t. Why would we assume some of the abuse that has gone on in our lives, why would we do that to ourselves and what in the world would it teach us.

While the concept that we, at our core, are divine is a hard concept to get through our heads an even harder one is to believe we would call these experiences to us, let alone want to experience them. It is much easier to latch onto the idea that an outside force did it to us, that there are evil people. That god doesn’t exist because we were not protected, that demons exist and prey on us that there is a devil and so forth. We struggle with the concept as humans as to whether or not a woman ‘asked’ for it, so why would we then turn around and believe we actually did. Why would we want to punish ourselves like that?

Unfortunately the answer is not an easy one to understand from a human standpoint. As souls we wanted to experience every nuance of humanity, on each side of the karmic coin if you will, and we have done them all. We have been the good guy and the bad, the abuser and the abused we have experienced it all, it is actually what is referred to as karma, though it is not this instantaneous slap in the face we believe it to be. Instead we have chosen to experience a lifetime as an abuser, oppressor, murder, evildoer and in others we have lived out the exact opposite. Why? Because we are here to experience it all and then overcome it.

As souls we are energetic beings of unconditional love, these concepts are not see as good or bad just as experiences. We do not have a concept, despite many lifetimes and being warned, that this will be a hard road, that as humans we will feel damaged, unworthy, unlovable and beyond help. In fact many of us take on such extreme abuse because our plan is to overcome/transcend the experience so that we may assist others in doing so. As souls we ask for more because we know that there isn’t a single thing that could ever hurt us, kill us, damage us. We are beings of light, nothing can harm us or extinguish us as we are what the cosmos is made from and so we sign up for it all and come here to live it.

Here we feel shut down, alone, frightened, fallible, week and mortal. Most of us have had veils put up so that we do not remember our true beings. Others, the ones that are still connected to things outside of this world can shut it down as they shut down from the world of abuse and pain. Still others will turn those experiences into the belief that evil exists and they will seek to rid the world of it for themselves and others. All of these are a human’s way of dealing with the experience, a way to hold yourself, to try and keep ourselves safe, to protect ourselves from the fear of the past and future. We shut ourselves off, pull away and live out our lives as tortured humans who have barely managed to survive the ordeals.

Even as a survivor we are claiming our victimhood, even celebrating it. To survive or being a survivor means that there was a chance we wouldn’t, a force that dominated us, a person out there that has controlled over us. Even if our abuser as passed on we feel we will never be even and carry the burden of it with us, in some cases making it even worse than when they were still alive. Why, would we ever, do this to ourselves?

Many of us, while it is happening, internalize it to the point that our idea of ourselves is one where we asked for it. We were bad, unlovable, unworthy and deserved it. We weren’t strong enough, powerful enough, loud enough, big enough, we weren’t enough period. We take these things in, take them to heart, in some ways we believe we asked for it, perhaps even wanted it because we, ourselves, deserved to be treated like that, couple that with the idea that as souls we wrote these experiences in to our contract and pushes those feelings up even stronger. Why, would we ever, ask for this, am I truly that unlovable?

No, again, as souls we took these things on to overcome them because we know that none of the ideas are true. No act is intrinsically good or bad, divine or evil, they are just experiences. We have to separate off the human concepts to understand the souls. We have to accept into our hearts that there are universal truths that we have closed ourselves off from, we have to take a leap of faith. We are divine, there is nothing and no one that can harm us. We are worthy simply because we exist. There is no universe, no god, no creator without us. We are a part of creation, we are one part of a whole, our energy supports the creation of everything. Nothing would exist without our participation, we are unique, valuable, love/loved, and we are powerful.

We are so strong, in fact, that we chose these experiences in order to transcend them. In order to find our true selves through them, to come to the realization that we are an intrinsic part of the totality of god and the universe and nothing can change that. We chose the experiences to transcend because we are powerful beings that wish only to spread our light to assist others, other parts of the whole, to do the same. We did not come here to merely survive the experience but to transform it into an awakening to our divine essence.

Look at your experience, really look at it. For all of the human emotions that came from that experience are any of them actually true. Can you follow the human ideas of yourself to your core and twist them until you no longer believe them. Can you change your story, understand it isn’t real and transcend it? This is what your soul is asking you to do, this is what the others that signed contracts with you for you to assist them are asking you to do, this is what the rest of us that are sending you love and asking you to open your heart to the unconditional love that is your true essence are asking you to do. Why? Because we understand that transcending that suffering will bring you closer to being in the most exquisite bliss, love and joy you have ever experience as a human because you will be closer to embodying your true essence here on earth. We understand that you are a part of the whole, that you are a part of us, that you are a part of me and we know you are worth it.
